Nearly 600 children from across the country took part in 2016 DEVIN CUP, DEVIN MASTERS’ tournaments organized together with the Bulgarian Tennis Federation /BTF/. The tournaments were held for eight consecutive year aiming to promote sports and active lifestyle.
Children who participated in this year’s DEVIN national tournaments were allocated in four age categories – up to 12, 14, 16 and 18 years old. All of them worthy presented their tennis clubs and coaches, while the most prominent received special awards provided by DEVIN.
This year was very successful for the Bulgarian junior national teams. The girls’ team in the 12- age category became European champions, and the boys aged 16 ranked 8th in the world finals of the Junior Davis Cup which is the best ever result for adolescents in the history of Bulgarian tennis. Over the whole season, the young Bulgarian tennis talents topped the ratings in various international tournaments. Daniela Dimitrova won the first place in the singles for girls aged 14 in Barcelona. Anthony Genov also won the first place in tournaments in Barcelona and Munich.

The finals of the DEVIN MASTERS tournament took place on the tennis courts of the Bulgarian National Tennis Center in October. Each of the winners in the respective categories received a check by DEVIN at the amount of BGN 1,000. The money will cover expenses of the winners for their participation in prestigious tournaments in Europe and U.S. in 2017.
